18 030 003 STANDARDS FOR SUBSTANCE ABUSE FACILITIES AND PROGRAMS



"Facility" means any public or private community residence, day treatment program, or rehabilitation program that provides rehabilitation, habilitation, psychological support, and social guidance services but does not provide medical or custodial care. A facility does not include: hospitals or units within hospitals for persons who are alcoholies, drug abusers or substance abusers. (R. I. Gen. Laws 40.1-24-1(b)).



G 1000 SUPPORTIVE SERVICES

G 1000.1 The Facility shall document that it has the capability of providing a client with, or referring a client to, such specialized supportive services as:

A. Legal

B. Job development, training and placement

C. Psychological services

D. Individual or family counseling

E. Social and rehabilitative services

F. Residential services (applies to non-residential programs)

G. Medical

H. Other basic services

G 1000.2 The Facility shall maintain an annual written cooperative agreement with those agencies who contract to provide essential services not provided by the Facility.

G 1100 FACILITY

G 1100.1 The Facility shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, rules and regulations relative to health, fire safety, building, minimum housing and zoning.

G 1100.2 The Facility shall develop, maintain and post a written evacuation plan to areas of refuge or from the Facility in the event of fire or any other type of disaster or emergency.

G 1100.3 All areas of the Facility shall be kept clean, neat and in order, in accordance with accepted practices and procedures of good housekeeping.

G 1100.4 Office space shall be provided for use by personnel providing services in the Facility.

G 1100.5 Adequate space shall be provided to allow for private interactions between staff and clients and family members.
